The story of this company began many years ago before it was fashionable to work in the field of "Aging". Dee Martin, Owner and Founder of Home Care and Elder Services, Inc., developed the first activity program of its kind in Idaho in the mid 1960's. Because this unique program was met with so much acceptance, the Governor of Idaho recognized the great vision and dedication Dee had to the Elderly. He asked her to serve on the Governor's Taskforce on Aging, which she graciously accepted and served faithfully in that capacity for several years. She also conducted statewide education programs as part of her dedication to serving the elderly. Dee has been involved in designing and opening Alzheimer Units and Assisted Living Units at various times. She has held responsible positions in nursing homes, hospitals, psychiatric facilities, and private organizations as well as developing and establishing her own business interests.

As Assistant Administrator at Heart of the Valley Center in Corvallis in the early 1980's, Dee was always looking for the best solutions for her patients. Unfortunately, the best solutions for some patients did not exist at the time. It was out of a desire to provide patients with alternatives to remaining in a nursing home that Dee Martin founded Home Care and Elder Services, Inc. in 1986. This new company provided opportunities for many patients to return home. Before long her vision was expanded to fill the needs of many elderly, disabled, and at risk individuals who were not associated with any facility. Dee has developed her ideas and dreams into today's successful business. An idea ahead of its time during those early years, Home Care and Elder Services, Inc. firmly established its reputation around SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. The quality of care delivered by this organization and the follow-up in the continuity of care is unparalleled in this part of Oregon.

Today's company was built as a result of the love and concern for the residents of this Oregon community. Home Care and Elder Services, Inc. continues to operate on that basis to this day under the very capable leadership of its owner and founder.
